My dog, Yoko, is a therapy dog and will sometimes be with me during sessions. She is a 9-pound, 3 year-old Habibi Bear (Havanese/Bichon mix). Habibi Bears are non-shedding and allergy-friendly, and they have an excellent temperament. She loves greeting people, going to sporting events, giving kisses, cuddling, sitting in laps, doing tricks, playing hide and seek, and tug of war. Yoko and I are a certified handler/canine team through the 4Paws Learning and Wellness Center and she is an animal ambassador through the Marin Humane Society. Through these organizations, we’ve volunteered at schools in Marin and Sonoma counties (Sonoma State University, Redwood High School, San Andreas High School and Miller Creek Middle School) and the emergency services at the Marin Sheriff’s Department. She is a registered Advanced Therapy Dog with the American Kennel Club (AKC). We passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen and Canine Good Citizen Urban tests successfully. Yoko holds the Novice Trick Title with AKC and Do More With Your Dog.
